Our Procedures
Combined with physical therapy, we offer solutions that address the cause of your back pain:
Epidural Steroid Injections
Also known as ESI, this minimally-invasive procedure treats pain and inflammation in the spine. During an ESI, an x-ray guided needle inserts local anesthetic and a steroid into the surrounding area, decreasing pain and inflammation.
Percutaneous Disc Decompression
A proven technique for disc herniation and back pain. The procedure involves removing tissue from a disc to reduce pressure, similar to letting air out of a tire.
Spinal Cord Stimulation
One of the best alternatives for treating chronic intractable pain, particularly the type caused by nerve damage. The procedure involves the use of mild electrical impulses to stimulate the nerves near the spinal cord, interfering with the signals that carry pain sensation to the brain.
Sacroiliac Joint Injection
An injection to relieve pain from the joint that connects the two large bones in the low back area. Injecting this joint with a combination of local anesthetic and a steroid (potent anti-inflammatory) helps reduce pain.
.
Intrathecal Pumps
This method gives medication directly to the spinal cord, using a small pump surgically placed under the skin of the abdomen.
Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty
A minimally-invasive procedure to treat fractures of the spine. Bone cement is injected into the fractured vertebra using X-ray guidance. As the cement hardens it will provide bone stabilization (support to your spine) and reduce your pain. The pain relief is typically almost immediate and profound.
Radiofrequency Ablation
A needle-based procedure where a needle is placed close to a nerve that has been proven to be involved in the generation of a chronic painful condition. After successful Nerve Blocks, an RFA is the next step in the management of your chronic pain.
The Aspire Approach
The board-certified physicians at Aspire Pain Relief Institute are uniquely qualified to treat the true source of your pain; we call it your “pain generator.” While sometimes an MRI has compelling imagery, it doesn’t always reveal what’s causing the pain in the first place. Instead, our physicians perform extensive evaluation to determine the underlying source and create a specialized program to relieve chronic pain.
